KUCHING: Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii has handed over some allocations to a young man to pursue his studies.
According to Dr Yii, the young man whom he met, was from his constituency who received an offer to study in an army university in Kuala Lumpur to pursue his dream.
“So, I had the opportunity to speak with him and the father, shared some advice and encourage him to be a good student and study well.
“I also passed him some allocations to help him with his college expenses,” he said in his Facebook post today.
Dr YII also encouraged him to study well and give back to the country.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, he managed to be on the ground at Poh Kong Park and Green Road here to meet and greet business owners and members of the public to distribute some mooncakes in conjunction with the upcoming Mooncake Festival.
“We also took opportunity to listen to their concerns, and even advice on several issues.
“Always grateful for the encouragement and support for us to keep going and serve the people better,” he said.
