KUCHING: TVS has clarified that it is not directly involved in the allegations of payment discrepancies surrounding a reality programme broadcast on its network.

The state-owned TV station said the programme was produced by an external production company.

“All payments to this company were reportedly settled prior to the broadcast of the last episode,” TVS said in a statement yesterday (Nov 23).

The station advised the production company to take swift action to address the matter with the latter’s appointed vendors and talents.

“This statement aims to provide clarity on TVS’ position in this situation, and we trust that the production company will take the necessary steps to resolve the alleged issue promptly.

“We appreciate your understanding and hope for a swift resolution to this matter,” TVS said.

On Wednesday, a ‘Dara Kenyalang’ reality programme participant  turned to social media, claiming payment was yet to be received since the last episode in May this year.

“Those of us joining this show have diverse situations – some working, some studying. Some had to take a two-month annual leave, others were laid off, and a few had to choose between work commitments and the show.

“Some even had to balance work and shooting. It’s not just us participating, but the entire crew, judges, make-up artists, wardrobe, and assistants.

“It was challenging, with 12-24 hour shoots and blistered feet from wearing heels day and night. However, despite all our efforts, the payment seems to have vanished into thin air,” ” said a Facebook account under ‘Clera De Claire’.

Meanwhile, at press time, the production company in question has yet to issue any statement.
