KUCHING: Newly reappointed Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Datuk Ali Biju has pledged to work untiringly and to serve the nation responsibly at the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (Ketsa) under the leadership of its new minister Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan.

He vowed to do this also together with the hardworking, supportive and expert civil service in this key ministry with its committed, efficient, and vastly experienced secretary-general Datuk Zurinah Pawanteh.

“There is still much work to be done and I am more than ready to serve,” he said in a statement on Friday (Aug 27) in conjunction with the announcement of the new Federal Cabinet line-up by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob earlier in the day.

“The Prime Minister’s decision to maintain continuity in many ministries bodes well for the nation, including Ketsa,” he said.

Ali, who is also Saratok MP, pointed out that Ketsa had a very wide portfolio, mainly overseeing and ensuring sustainable and responsible development of natural resources and the nation’s energy management.

He expressed his deep gratitude to the prime minister for reappointing him as Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.

“I am most appreciative of his trust and confidence in me to continue my service to the nation in the same ministry which I am most familiar with,” he said.

Ali was first appointed as Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources under former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s Cabinet last year.
