TATAU: Residents in Ulu Kakus have been assured that various development projects have been planned and implemented in the Kakus constituency.

Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Sarawak Bumiputera Law and Customs) Datuk John Sikie Tayai said presently, areas in Ulu Kakus had been provided with solar-powered electricity.

He pointed out that electricity supply grids would be constructed from Jambatan Kelebu to Rumah Ado in Kakus, which would also benefit residents in Sangan and Muput areas.

Sikie said this when officiating at a concrete road and launch of the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Women’s Bureau of Rumah Serai, Sungai Sepulau Muput Kanan Tatau, on Friday.

The Kakus assemblyman explained that the implementation of Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for this year was disrupted due to the movement control order (MCO).

He however assured that all projects would resume after the recovery movement control order and to be fully completed despite the delay.

At the ceremony, Sikie announced a minor rural project (MRP) grant of RM36,000 for Rumah Serai JKKK and another RM4,000 for Rumah Serai Women’s Bureau.
