Continuous rain expected in Sarawak until Jan 21

KUCHING: According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department in a warning issued on Wednesday (Jan 19) at 2pm, the areas expected to have rain are Belaga, Beluru, Telang Usan, Miri, Marudi and Limbang.

It said that when a warning is issued, it means that heavy rain is expected to occur within one to three days or continuous rain/thunderstorms would occur but have not become severe.  

For continuous rain warning under the severe category, it means that continuous heavy rain is expected to occur with rainfall exceeding 60 mm within six hours.

Continuous rain warning under the danger category means that continuous torrential rain is expected to occur with rainfall exceeding 150 mm per day.

The public has been urged to constantly refer to the Malaysian Meteorological Department’s website at www.met.gov.my, its social media platform, or download the myCuaca mobile application to get the latest update on the weather forecast.
