SRI AMAN: Several boxes of contraband beer worth more than RM75,000 were seized by Sarawak Marine Police during a raid at Taman Srijaya last Monday (Dec 21).

A caretaker of the premises was also detained after he failed to produce any legal documents for the good.

Sarawak Marine Police Regional Five commander ACP Shamsol Kassim said the raid took place around 2.30pm at an unnumbered premise at the said location.

“The team carried out inspection at the premises believed to be used as a store and discovered several boxes of unaccustomed beer worth RM75, 504.15 inside,” he said.

Shamsol said the seizures and arrest were handed over to Sri Aman police station for further action.

The case will be investigated under the Customs Act 1967.
