KUCHING: Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) has directed a contractor to repair the burst pipes in Sri Aman Division which had caused water supply disruptions since Jan 3.

In response to DayakDaily news portal JBALB yesterday issued a statement which said that upon investigation their workers discovered burst pipes in a few areas.

The areas are at the junction of Jalan Bayu, Jalan Skait and junction of Jalan Tai Chung in Entulang.

After the repair works are done, the department will monitor from time to time to ensure the water pressure is stable.

“However, it is expected that there are other possible burst pipes causing low water pressure in Sri Aman presently.

“We seek the people’s cooperation and to inform us immediately if they face similar problem and we will investigate right away.

“JBALB is committed in delivering its service and is doing its best to overcome the issue to ensure consumers continue to get their water supply and in compliance with the quality standard,” the statement said.
