KUCHING: Residents in the Sibu Jaya flat and the Townvilla housing area in Sibu were told to be patient and cooperate with the frontliners in getting their supplies delivered to their doorsteps.
Education, Science and Technological Research assistant minister Dr Annuar Rapaee said the supply of essentials and food are dropped off by their relatives at the designated the drop site at the two enhanced movement control order (EMCO) areas.
“The frontliners here are not only taking care of the safety of the residents, but they are also delivering the supply of items to their houses.
“The residents would call the frontliners to ask for their items to be delivered, but I understand that some would lose their patience as it takes time to deliver these items.
“I assure you that the frontliners are doing all they can to get these items to you as here at Sibu Jaya flat, there are 20 units,” he said.
He said this in a video update during his visit Sibu Jaya flat on Sunday (Feb 21).
Dr Annuar said the residents should treat the frontliners well as they are merely performing their responsibilities.
“I urge the residents to not be too harsh on the frontliners and cooperate with them,” he said, thanking the Police, Armed Forces and Rela for their services.
Meanwhile, in a separate post, Dr Annuar who is also coordinator for the Sibu Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) called on Sibu folks to help curb the spread of Covid-19.
“If we finally succeed in flattening the Covid-19 curve, this would be our victory — not my personal victory.
“We love each other, and we want to make sure that Sibu would be free from Covid-19 as soon as possible,” he said.
