Cooperation and unity key factors for rural devt

KUCHING: Cooperation and unity between communities and leaders lead towards progressive development in the rural areas, said Infrastructure and Port Development Assistant Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi.

He made this assertion during his visit to Kampung Skitong, Sebangan last Wednesday (Nov 17).

“Infrastructure and basic facilities change a lot and continue to transform from time to time.

“All are the consequences from the practice of cooperation and unity between residents and between leaders at all levels with the government through the existing government representatives,” said Julaihi in his Facebook post.

While on his way to Kampung Skitong, he mentioned that the journey from Gedong to Sebangan only takes 35 minutes using the Gedong/Simunjan/Sebangan highway.

He added that it was fast and comfortable trip compared to travelling in the olden days which took a day or more by boat or through Kuching.

“Based on shared experience, the practice of such cooperation and unity with residents and leaders has proven to produce many benefits and advantages for the people.

“Therefore, it is important that the practice of such cooperation and unity which has existed for so long is sustained,” said the Sebuyau incumbent.

He also noted the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) through its component party, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), is proven successful in fostering a spirit of cooperation and strengthening the bonds of unity between the people and all levels of existing leadership.

“This is the situation that we need to defend together so that more policies and rural development agendas of the GPS government can be implemented in the future by the village leadership. As a result, villages will continue to be developed and change for the better,” said Julaihi.
