KUCHING: The Fire and Rescue Department Malaysia, Sarawak (BOMBA) yesterday announced their strategic collaboration with Yayasan Farley to enable both parties to work together in carrying out community empowerment.

BOMBA Director Datuk Khirudin Drahman @ Hussaini said the collaboration included total fire safety, development of fire safety awareness programmes and safety awareness programmes for children (Safe and Alert).

“This collaboration is designed so that limited resources can be used more optimally and in line with the National Fire and Rescue Policy 2021 to 2030.

“It includes creating and empowering Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) in residential areas, public and private premises, increasing collaboration with corporate, private and non -governmental organisations (NGOs) for safety programmes at the school and tertiary level.

Earlier yesterday, the collaboration was signed by Khirudin and Eijing Lau, the Yayasan Farley president in the Grand Opening Ceremony of Farley Kuching.
