SERIAN: The Madani Cooperative Sale programme is offering over 25 per cent discount for products sold to ease the cost of celebrating the upcoming Gawai celebration.

Serian MP, Datuk Richard Riot expressed hope that the programme which was organised by Koperasi Komuniti Kampung Mujat Serian Berhad would also inspire other cooperatives to assist the local communities.

“The two-day programme aims to alleviate the burden on the local community as they prepare for the Gawai celebrations, which are just a few days away.

“Take this opportunity to purchase essential items with discounts ranging from 20 to 25 per cent,” he said when officiating at the Madani Cooperative Sale and Coop Biz-Nest for Serian division today (May 25).

On the same note, Riot commended the efforts made by the village cooperative, stating that it was a testament to their success after being established 43 years ago.

Under the guidance of the Malaysian Cooperative Commission Sarawak branch, he said the cooperative remained relevant and successful.

“Through cooperatives, villagers can learn how to conduct business.
