PADAWAN: A police lance corporal was arrested after he tested positive for drugs today.

Padawan District police chief Superintendent Aidil Bolhassan said the 31-year-old cop, who was on duty at the Kota Sentosa Police Station, tested positive for methamphetamine (also known as syabu)  during  a urine test  at 2.35pm.

“As a result of the preliminary investigation, the suspect admitted to having been involved in drug abuse activities for more than two years.

“The suspect did not cooperate. He did not reveal who he was dealing with for the purchase of drugs,” he said in a statement.

Aidil added  the suspect, who had two previous drug-related offences, was now detained at the Siburan Police Station lock up for further action.

He said the suspect was married and had three children.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (ADB) 1952.
