KUCHING: The police will continue its aggressive pursuit to enhance safety, security and public order in the capital city of Sarawak.

Its police chief ACP Awang Din Awang Gani would not compromise in addressing crime matters.

As such, efforts to maintain a low crime index remain a struggle for all and the community is urged to work together with the force to curb criminal activities and social issues.

Awang said this in his speech at a meet-the-people programme at Mydin Petra Jaya here, yesterday.

He added that talks, dialogue sessions, exhibitions as well as Volunteer Smartphone Patrol (VSP) registrations were among the activities lined up to engage with community leaders and members of the public.

Commenting further, Awang pointed that community policing has been well-accepted and that the force highly appreciates the support rendered towards them.

“Proactive attitude by the police and the people would be impactful in eradicating crime at their respective areas,” he said adding that the relationship between the two parties should be enhanced.
