KUCHING: The construction of a RM120,000 sepak takraw court at Kampung Bintawa Batu will encourage more youth to be involved in sepak takraw, said Pantai Damai assemblyman Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

He said the project had been completed on schedule.

“The construction of a roof for the sepak takraw court and drains at Kampung Bintawa Batu went smoothly.

“The Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects were first introduced by the late Chief Minister Pehin Sri Adena Satem in 2015,” he told reporters when met at the handing over of the takraw court site to Kampung Bintawa Batu Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) on Wednesday (Nov 18).

On the implementation of this year’s  RTP  projects, Abdul Rahman, who is also Assistant Minister of Utilities (Water Supply), said only 20 percent of the projects were carried out because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We will make sure the projects are carried out next year,” he added.
