Courtesy calls on Taib

KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud received two courtesy calls from two institutes of higher education at his official residence in Demak Jaya today.

The first visit was from Politeknik Mukah. Its delegation comprised director, Dullah Muluk deputy director (Academic), Mohd Sani Said and deputy director (Academic Support), Iskandar Reduan.

The purpose of the visit was to inform Taib about current developments of the polytechnic besides sharing the good news about the marketability of its graduates.

Shortly afterwards, Taib received another courtesy call from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) Board of Directors, led by its chairman Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie and vice chancellor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi.

The purpose of the visit was to inform Taib and apply from him the signature of the letter of appointment of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg as pro-chancellor of Unimas for a period of three years from March this year until March 2023.
