Courtesy calls on Taib

KUCHING: The Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud received two courtesy calls at the Astana Negeri in Petra Jaya here, yesterday.

The first visit was by Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka (DBP) Sarawak branch director Abdul Wahab and his entourage. Also accompanying Abdul Wahab was state Education director Dr Azhar Ahmad.

The visit was to invite Taib to launch a Youth Forum, Students’ Forum and a Literary Award to be held sometime in July.

Later, the governor also received a courtesy from the new Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail.
