COURTS Malaysia handing over the contributions to The Miri Home for the Aged.

KUCHING: COURTS Malaysia recently presented four homes in Sabah and Sarawak with over RM8,300 worth of electronics, furniture and home essential contributions as part of its yearly Rumah Amal COURTS programme.

Held to commemorate the Gawai Harvest Festival celebrated in the two states, 150 individuals benefited from the charity.

The four houses included Care Haven Children’s Home (Kota Kinabalu), Rumah Anak Yatim & Asnaf As Sakinah (Kota Kinabalu), Rumah Seri Kenangan Home for the Aged (Kuching) and Miri Home for the Aged (Miri).

In a press statement, COURTS Marketing Director, Low Bee Yin said that COURTS Malaysia remained dedicated in helping the communities that it operated in to celebrate festive seasons such as Gawai and Kaamatan Harvest Festival.

“We hope that our gifts are able to make a difference in the lives of the people because at the end of the day, we want to see them smiling with joy and impact their lives positively,” she said.

The Rumah Amal COURTS programme has been running for the third year and with its partner, 1Malaysia for Youth (iM4U), COURTS Malaysia plans to reach out to more in 2017, to help more of the poor, the needy and the disadvantaged by giving them better quality lives.

The programme was launched in 2015 in conjunction with COURTS’ 30th Anniversary in Malaysia. It aims to provide basic household necessities such as furniture and electrical items to homes in need.
