KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Health Department (JKNS) has come up with a special video three-minutes-six-seconds long in honour of its department drivers who are committed to their job of sending and collecting Covid-19 samples and health facilities to hospitals and clinics throughout the state.

State health director Dr Christina Rundi said in a statement today the video was made in appreciation of the department’s drivers who sacrificed time and effort in the face of current challenges.

“They were assigned to deliver laboratory samples from the each coast every day. This is an essential task as the land and air transport system has been affected by the movement control order. Yesterday was the 73rd day of operations which is still on-going,” she said.

A total of 20 JKNS drivers, clad in personal protective equipment (PPE) attire, take turns to perform the operations.

The Covid-19 samples from throughout the state are then sent to the Public Health Laboratory in  Kota Kinabalu.

On the Covid-19 situation in Sabah, Dr Christina said as of yesterday, another case was recorded in  Putatan bringing the total to 347, of which 10 are still being treated in six specialist hospitals in the state.

She said the most recent case involved a local person detected at the Sabah Women and Children’s Hospital and is now being treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. – Bernama
