KAPIT: The body of crane operator, Kiing Sih Hock, who fell into the river on Sunday night, has been recovered.

The body was found on the second day of the Search and Rescue (SAR) operation yesterday.

It was found floating in the Nanga Nyikau River at 1.02pm by members of the public, who joined the SAR operation, some 7km from where the incident had occurred.

Kiing’s body was later handed over to the firemen to be brought to the wharf.

He was reported missing on Sunday after he was involved in a crane accident which collapsed into a river at Log Pond logging camp, Nanga Emang, Rajang River.

According to the police report lodged on July 28, a man was involved in a workplace accident where the crane used to lift timber had collapsed into the river. The victim could not escape and fell with the crane into the river.
