KUCHING: A man failed to escape fate after he was involved in an accident for the second time in his life.

Awang Kadri, who was left crippled due to the first accident which occurred years ago, was run over by a lorry yesterday at Kampung Rampangi at about 1pm and died.

He was crossing the road when he was hit by a lorry and died on the spot. It is believed that he died from head injuries.

Kadri’s remains were taken to Sarawak General Hospital for a post-mortem and police are investigating the case.

In another case, a corpse – dubbed Mr X – was found underneath a bridge at SK Kambug, Padawan at about 8pm on Sunday.

Padawan police had received a call from someone named Henry, who said he stumbled upon the remains when he went fishing.

The body was laying face-up, clad in a brown long-sleeved t-shirt and black pants. Police said from the condition of the corpse, it could have been there for the last three days. No identification documents were found.
