KUCHING:  The body of a 50-year-old man, reported missing since yesterday (May 12), was found with crocodile bite marks on the right hand.

Bungkung Chalin was reported to have gone to the river alone at 5 pm yesterday to set up drift nets but failed to return home afterwards.

Villagers recovered his body at 10.30 am today (May 13) near Sungai Sandai, Suai, according to the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre.

“The victim’s body was found 10 metres away from his drift nets,” it said in a report today.

It added the firefighters wore complete personal protective equipment when bringing the body ashore.

The remains were later handed over to the police for further action.
