KUCHING: The Sarawak X-Tive programme is a platform for Sarawakians to take part in sports activities, said Kuching Resident Datuk Sherrina Hussaini.

The programme also promotes a healthy lifestyle, both in physical and mental terms, she said, adding that this in turn could bring about a more productive and competitive society.

“This programme is an initiative of the state government through the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development in collaboration with the Sarawak X-Tive Kuching Division Committee chaired by the Resident.

“Its main objective is to cultivate sports for the well-being and unity of Sarawakians. This is in line with the ministry’s vision of ‘Sport for All by 2030’.

“Having said this, we hope the ministry will be able to achieve its objective through this programme,” she said during the inauguration of the Kuching Division X-Tive Programme at Le Park, Dewan Suarah Kuching on Saturday (Mar 5).

She hoped programmes such as this would be implemented continuously from time to time.
