Customs director pays courtesy call on Taib

KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud received a courtesy call from the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) Sarawak in Demak Jaya, yesterday (Nov 10).

Dr Ahmad Taufik Sulaiman led the delegation during the visit, which was aimed at introducing himself as the new Sarawak Customs director.

According to a statement issued by the Information Department, this is Ahmad Taufik’s first courtesy call on Taib after being appointed as the director on Oct 7, replacing Herman Shah Abdullah.

Originally from Pahang, he has previously worked in Sabah in 2018 as the deputy director of the State Customs Enforcement Division.

Also present were the Head of Enforcement Division Ahmad Mazuki Yasin and the Head of Service and Human Resource Management Mohd. Apin Pauzan.
