Abang Johari visits the Dalat Solidarity Park.

DALAT: BazaarNita and Dalat Waterfront —the latest landmarks in Dalat, the administrative town of the Dalat district in Mukah Division, are also tourist attractions.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg officiated at the launch of these two projects here on Saturday (Dec 19).

In his speech, Abang Johari pointed out that Dalat, which is situated by the Oya River, was a very attractive place with its river view.

He said the Dalat Waterfront was a symbol of prosperity of the residents and thanked Dalat assemblywoman, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, her team and government officers for developing the town.

He revealed that he proposed the waterfront project when he was tourism minister.

Abang Johari was pleased that the project was finally completed.

The chief minister revealed that he had allocated large funds for rural infrastructure development throughout the state including Dalat district.

Many members of the public in Dalat interviewed by Suara Sarawak, New Sarawak Tribune’s sister paper, were thankful to the state government for developing the district and improving their socio-economic status.
