KUCHING: Kuching Zdance Club held its annual dinner themed “The Red Carpet” in Kuching recently to mark its sixth anniversary.
The Zdance Challenge, which among other things aims to create more talented dance fitness instructors and a fashion show featuring club members were held during the event.
The club, established on October 2016 and is registered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS), also promotes healthy lifestyle among the community via fun fitness dance session.
Its chairperson, Sophia Jenang said that with classes held 4 times weekly, the public can choose to join on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Sundays at Sarawak State Library (PUSTAKA) grounds or Fridays at Celebration Square, State Stadium.
“All classes are offered free of charge and begins at 5.30pm for one hour,” she said.
She added that apart from free classes for members and non-members, the club also organises other activities for club members, including event management course, team building, educational and goodwill trips within Sarawak and beyond.
“The club also organises basic aerobic and dance fitness choreography courses for interested club members who wish to serve as Zdance instructors,” she added.
She revealed that in 2018, the club was invited by Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) to lead a aerodance session at Dataran Lang in conjunction with the MOF carnival there.
“It was a huge honour to bring Sarawak’s name as our instructors led a session of more than a thousand people.
“In 2019, we spread our wings to Kota Kinabalu to conduct a session at Taman Awam Likas on 31 August,” she added.
The club had to put off their educational trip plans in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In July 2022, Kuching Zdance Club organised an educational land convoy trip to Sibu in conjunction with Sarawak Day 2022 and 37 members and their family joined the convoy.
Members of the public who are interested to join the club’s free classes or sign up as members can contact the club’s facebook page or send a whatsapp message to 019-8053097 or 013-8183080.
