KUCHING: DAP Batu Kitang branch chairman Abdul Aziz Isa distributed food donation to 50 Muslim recipients including people with various disabilities (OKU) at Masjid Darul Ehsan, Kpg Haji Baki last Wednesday.
The food donation programme was organised by KRT Kpg Haji Baki with the support of Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen in conjunction with the upcoming fasting month of Ramadan.
Muslims are expected to begin fasting next Monday and under the programme each recipient received a packet of rice, sugar, cooking oil and flour.
Aziz said the food distribution was to ease the burden of the needy families during the month of Ramadan.
Besides, he said, the programme enabled Stampin MP’s service centre to reach out to the Malay community.
