KUCHING: The Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak has offered to give legal advice and help to the guardian of the children of the Sarawakian couple who got electrocuted in a flat in Cameron Highlands in March.

Michael Kong Feng Nian, special assistant to DAP Sarawak Chairman Chong Chieng Jen, said they would help to apply for a Letter of Administration in order to administer the estate of both the deceased. This was after paying the children of the late Damian Senin and Ronwina Mambai a visit.

“We will help this young family to see out their entire process as well as monitor their wellbeing from time to time,” Kong said in his statement yesterday.

The children are now staying with their aunt and their legal guardian, Poly Pandong, in Kampung Sungai Tapang and all are being well taken care of, he noted.

He added that the Welfare Department had been made aware of the change of guardianship and had indicated that their monthly monetary assistance would be reallocated to Miss Poly accordingly.

“The status of SOCSO’s assistance is, however, unclear and we shall look into it for her,” he pointed out in the statement.
