KUCHING: The second phase of the ongoing Darul Hana project is expected to be completed in 2026, according to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He said the Sarawak government is in the process of identifying another area near Kampung Sungai Bedaun for the next phase of the project.

He also said the resettlement will include residents of two villages, namely the Kampung Panglima Seman Ulu and Kampung Pulo Hilir.

“Some 200 families will be relocated in this new settlement that is being developed in Sungai Bedaun on a 56-acre land,” he said when met by reporters at the Majlis Iftar Darul Hana 2024 hosted by Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) at Waterfront Hotel here, yesterday (Mar 21).

Abang Johari said the relocation of the population of Kampung Seberang Hilir will take time due to the development of the new settlement.

The Sungai Bedaun settlement project, managed by LCDA, covers an area of over 100 acres and is designated for the resettlement of extended families involved in the Darul Hana development.
