KUCHING: Markets under the Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) jurisdiction are allowed to operate.

In a statement on Monday (Feb 22), DBKU said the markets include farmers’ market, tamu, night market and bazaar (Uptown and Downtown markets).

It said the permission for the operation is in line with the implementation of the conditional movement control order (CMCO) in Kuching as a red zone since Feb 17.

“The operation must be in compliance with the CMCO standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the National Security Council (MKN), Ministry of Health (MOH) and the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), from time to time,” it said.

DBKU said the instruction is referring to the Kuching Division Resident Office’s statement, dated Feb 19, 2021. (reference: RBK/600-2 / 1/5 (47) Vol.2).
