BINTANGOR: What was supposed to be a great day out turned into a horrific incident when a 33-year-old man was killed after he jumped down from Wong Kuji Waterfall at Mile 8, Jalan Engkamop on Sunday (Aug 2).

After receiving a distress call pertaining to the 3.37pm incident, the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) despatched firemen from Bintangor fire and rescue station to the scene.

The victim identified as Sat Renang from Rh Rampoo, Sungai Paoh, was said to have jumped down the waterfall that is about two-storeys high into the river.

His friends, who realised that the victim did not surface, found him in the river and brought him to the riverbank to revive him but to no avail.

When the firemen arrived, they found the man had been brought to an area near Jalan Engkamop.

Sat was pronounced dead at the scene and his body handed over to the police for further action.
