DEBAK: The current Debak sub-district office will be replaced with a new building at a cost of RM5 million.

Saribas assemblyman Mohammad Razi Sitam said a site for the project has been approved by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He explained that the present building, which was decades old was unable to meet current needs.

“I am grateful that the Sarawak government has approved the construction of a new administrative building here and hopefully it will provide more comfortable facilities in the administration of our sub-district. Thank you Abang Johari,” he said.

He was met by Suara Sarawak after a meeting and site inspection for the new Debak sub-district office construction project over the weekend.

He explained that the project would be sited in an integrated development area for Pekan Debak.

“This area will be a well-equipped service centre because there is also a proposal where hawker or economic centres, bank kiosks and other services to be located there as well.

“God willing, we will witness the landscape of this area will change a lot,” he said.
