DEBAK: The Debak sub-district will have its own sports complex worth RM8.9 million funded by the Sarawak government.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said this is another development project brought by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government for the people of Debak.

“Congratulations to the people of Debak and Saribas; construction work on the sports complex commends today and is expected to be completed within 12 months,” he said.

Uggah, who is also the Agriculture Modernisation, Native Land and Regional Development Minister, said this to reporters after a ground breaking ceremony for the Debak Sub-District Sports Complex here, today.

He hoped that the complex, which was built on 10 acres of land, would enable the youth to showcase their talent.

In addition to that, community leader Temenggong Pi’ee Alwi praised the project and said that GPS had always prioritised rural development.

“Before this, residents never thought that Debak would have its own sports complex.
