KUCHING: An unidentified decomposed body was found in Sungai Salak, here at 1.20 pm yesterday.
Acting Kuching OCPD Supt Merbin Lisa said the body was decomposing, making it difficult for the police to confirm the identity of the victim.
“This is a male body which is believed to have been there for more than 72 hours.
“The body was taken to the Sarawak General Hospital’s (SGH) forensic department to identify the cause of death,” Merbin said.
Police have urged individuals who have lost a family member in the past 72 hours to approach the nearby police station to help with the investigation.
The case has been classified as sudden death.
