KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg received courtesy visits from three delegations at his office, Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.
The first visit was from Sarawak Islamic Information Centre, led by Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi.
The visit was to introduce its Advisory Panel Committee members as well as plans from 2020 until 2025 for the benefit of the local and international community.
The Islamic Information Centre delegation also sought the advice and views of Abang Johari so that the strategy and actions of the centre were in line with the aspirations of the Sarawak government.
Joining the delegation were Khalid Ibrahim Sarudu Hoklai, Zabariah Matali, Salmah Ibrahim Melina, Mortadza Lau Abdullah, Datuk Dr Hatta Solhee and Datuk Abang Shibli Abang Nailie.
The second delegation was from the Sarawak Dyslexia Association led by its president Dr Ong Puay Hoon, patron Datin Hannah Azerina Mohd Arif and advisor Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.
They were joined by Zainah Tambi, Dick Yong, Edward Lee, Felix Wee, Richard Sia, Lily Kong and Shanir Sharbas.
The visit was to brief Abang Johari on dyslexia and the role of the association in Sarawak.
The association also expressed its gratitude for the 1.5-acre land in Desa Wira for the construction of a learning and teaching centre for children with dyslexia and other learning difficulties.
The final courtesy visit was from the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) of Datu Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah College led by its president Fathi Hambali, deputy president Abang Hadi Abd Kadir and principal Abang Othman Abang Masagus.
Also joining them were exco members Ahmad Abang, Atika Berzuri and Omar Mahli.
