KUCHING: Residents affected by the recent floods received donations from Everrise Departmental Store.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng together with councillors and community leaders handed over food items and essential goods to those affected.

They included residents from Jalan Mendu (Jalan Kampung Mendu), Jalan Foochow 1 (Jalan Kampung Dayak) and Jalan Selangan Batu (Jalan Peace Selatan).

Wee advised the committee in the said areas to liaise with councillors regarding any help and work together to take care of every resident during the Covid-19 pandemic.

He reminded the residents to be responsible, to stay safe, avoid gatherings or going to crowded areas, and always put on a mask whenever they go out.

The mayor praised and thanked Everrise for helping the residents as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative.

He believed that every company had its own way of contributing to the state and by giving back to the community during the pandemic, it had lessen the burdens of those affected.
