KUCHING: A group of PKR youth chiefs yesterday insisted that PKR Santubong youth chief Haziq Abdul Aziz be suspended from his duty as principal private secretary to Primary Industries and Commodities Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin with immediate effect.
This came in the wake of yesterday’s 34-second video of an alleged sworn statement that Haziq uploaded to his Facebook page where he admitted that it was indeed him who was in a sex video with a minister.
The video, which the group believed is a fake, went viral via WhatsApp on Tuesday. It featured two men engaging in a homosexual act. One of them is said to be a minister.
The group, comprising all youth chiefs of PKR branches in Selangor and PKR national youth excos, urged Shamsul to take immediate action.
“We are of the opinion that the image of the ministry and that of the Malaysian government’s image is badly tarnished by the planned conspiracy, resembling one which occurred some 20 years ago.
“Rightfully, the principal private secretary should no longer be involved in official dealing with any agencies or the public to protect the ministry’s credibility.”
It is their fervent hope therefore that immediate action be taken to avoid other polemics from cropping up that could jeopardise the government’s reputation and efforts in putting the country on the right track, they added.
