MIRI: Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, continued his Hari Raya open house visits to Malay community leaders here on Friday.
Since the beginning of Raya, Ting had visited nearly 20 homes including those of Miri City Council (MCC) Deputy Mayor Arrifin Mohamad, Pemanca Abang Mohamed Dato Sri Abang Othman, Penghulu Samad Alip, and Temenggong Dato Abdul Rahman.
Each visit, characterised by warmth and respect, facilitated meaningful discussions, representing Ting’s commitment to engaging with Malay community leaders. These interactions helped forge relationships, share ideas, and bolster community unity, fostering camaraderie and solidarity.
“The rich tapestry of cultural diversity defines Sarawak, where people of all races and tribes come together to celebrate,” he told reporters.
Also present were members of the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Piasau, MCC Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang, councillors and community leaders.
