Deputy Premier Dr Sim and wife make CNY visits in Sibu

SIBU: Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and his wife Datin Enn Ong paid several Chinese New Year visits to community leaders and chairman of associations here on Monday (Jan 30).

Dr Sim, who is also the president of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), made his first stop at the residence of Deputy Minister for Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii in Jalan Deshon.

He then proceeded to Chiang Chuang Association chairman Lim Hong Hui’s residence in Jalan Gambir before stopping at Dudong SUPP chairman Wong Ching Yong’s house in Jalan Sawi.

Batu Kawa assemblyman Dr Sim and entourage then visited former Dudong assemblyman Datuk Tiong Tai King’s house in Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg and Sarawak Chinese Annual Conference of the Methodist Church in Malaysia, Bishop Lau Hui Ming’s house in Jalan Lily.

Dr Sim then continued his visit to the United Chinese Association (UCA) Sibu in Jalan Aman and was welcomed by Sibu UCA president Lau Ing Siong.

He then proceeded to the residences of Eng Ann Teng Tua Pek Kong Sibu deputy chairman Soon Choon Kui in Pulau Li Hua before ending his visit at Sibu Foochow Association, Jalan Salim.

Accompanying Dr Sim during the visits were  Bukit Assek assemblyman Chieng Jin Ek, Bukit Assek SUPP chairman Datuk Chieng Buong Toon and Sibu Municipal Council chairman Clarence Ting Ing Horh.
