Digital bootcamp to offer hands-on experience

KUCHING: The Juh Digital Bootcamp aims to enroll 200 youth entrepreneurs and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from all over Sarawak for the programme’s first batch.

Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) chairman Datuk Len Talif Salleh disclosed that the Juh Digital Bootcamp is a digital marketing programme for the community and it is fully funded by the state government.

He said participants will have access to mentors and industry experts who will teach them how to improve their digital presence especially for businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Juh Digital Bootcamp aims to empower MSMEs and youth entrepreneurs with digital skills to succeed in the digital economy.

By the end of the programme, participants will have hands-on experience in setting up their digital presence to expand their market reach.

“I am pleased to announce that we will be partnering with our TEGAS Startup Lab Batch #3 alumni, Borneo Digital to deliver the programme. Borneo Digital is a digital content startup and digital media agency currently based in TEGAS Digital Village,” he said.

He said this during the launching of Juh Digital Bootcamp and TEGAS Startup Lab x Social Impact Accelerator Demo Day on Saturday (May 21).

Len who is also the Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment said he is pleased to see how the partnership programme supports local entrepreneurs to access knowledge, skills, networks, and resources while turning their business ideas into successful enterprises.

“Especially during these trying times, I would like to encourage new and budding entrepreneurs to find out more about the opportunities made available under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal, and Entrepreneur Development (MINTRED) and TEGAS.

“At the same time, I would like to encourage MSMEs to sign up for the Juh Digital Bootcamp,” he added.

Also present was the founder of Yayasan MyProdigy Malaysia Senator Jaziri Alkaf.
