Digital Kenyalang launching ceremony on September 14

KUCHING: The Digital Kenyalang launching ceremony will be held on September 14 at Penview Convention Centre (PCC).

Minister of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development, Dato’ Sri Fatimah Abdullah announced that the programme targeted about 1,000 participation from local entrepreneurs.

“Upon its implementation, it will benefit 3,000 participants from throughout the six Divisions of Sarawak, namely, Kuching, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Sibu, Miri and Limbang. Each Division will have 500 participants.

“We are collaborating with the Malaysia Digital Economy Cooperation to ensure the effectiveness of the programme.   

“This programme is held to eradicate poverty among the low income households and ensure a higher income for them at the same time,” Fatimah told a press conference at PCC yesterday.

Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg will grace the event.

Fatimah also disclosed that there would be a plenary session conducted by actor/entrepreneur, Fizo Omar as well as exhibitions with 10 booths manned by successful entrepreneurs.

“As we are pursuing digital economy, this will be the platform for entrepreneurs to learn how to make use of the social media to advertise and do business on the internet,” she said.

The Minister also pointed out that there were  currently 13,118 micro entrepreneurs under 1AZAM.
