Digital network initiative in Puncak Borneo begins

KUCHING: The National Digital Network Plan or Jendela that aims to build 26 new 4G telecommunication towers in Puncak Borneo, has commenced.

This was revealed by Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin, who stated that the dream to have better telecommunication network and coverage in his constituency, is becoming a reality.

“The Jendela programme is supervised by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC),” he said in a Facebook post on Thursday (March 10).

Willie, who is also federal Plantation Industries and Commodities Deputy Minister, stated that the 26 towers would be fully completed in the third quarter of 2023.

“The Optical Communication Engineering Company (OCE) selected as the contractor will start work soon following submissions of application to the Land and Survey Department (JTS) to obtain land segregation approval at each site location that has been identified,” he added..”

The 26 site locations are Borneo Happy Farm; Kg Tanjong Durian; Kg Puak Krokong; Kg Keranji Skunyit; Kg Biya Parang; Kg Kiding; Kg Sapit; Kg Bra’ang Bayur; Kg Bunuk; Kg Sitang; Kg Kuang; Annah Rais Hot Spring; Kg Tijirak; Kg Annah Simuti; Kg Danu; Kg Giam Baru; Kg Abang; Kg Kambug and Maras; Kg Plaman Payang; SK Patung (Kg Patung); Kg Gayu; Kg Bunga; Kg Tarat Melawi; Kg Bra’ang Belimbing; Kg Bukit Nanas and Kg Bisira Rayang.
