KUCHING: Discussions and consultations are the best ways to settle disputes, said Local Government Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil.
He said this was the case on the dispute between Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) and Rh John Marikan, Sg Buti, Bong, Ulu Teru.
“I always believe that the best way to settle disputes is at the discussion table and not through a confrontation,” he said in a Facebookpost on Thursday night.
Earlier he held a meeting with the two parties at his office at Bangunan Baitul Makmur here.
“The conflict occurred when there were misunderstandings on the matter of joint venture regarding oil plant plantations and plantation companies.
“I am grateful that the conflict has been resolved despite those who are intentionally trying to muddy the waters further and use it for political gains,” he said.
On another development, Penguang said a discussion to move Rh Kompeni Agon to a safer and more comfortable site was also done.
