LIMBANG:  Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Bukit Kota Welfare Association recently carried out a welfare programme to help the disabled in the constituency.

According to Bukit Kota Women and Social Welfare chairwoman Nonnimsrlini Abdullah, the programme is a monthly affair of the Bukit Kota PBB Welfare Committee.

She said the donations came in many forms, depending on the recipients’ wishes.

“The target groups differ according to their respective cases and situations.

“Sometimes the committee will look at fire victims and death cases. For today’s programme, we visited disabled patients who are not able to walk,” she said when met by reporters yesterday.

Also present were Bukit Kota assemblyman Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, Pemanca Abu Bakar Tinggal and Penghulu Joseph Dollah.

Nonnimsrlini explained that donations were not just financial, but also in the form of wheelchairs, diapers and other necessities.

During the programme, the troupe visited four recipients in Kampung Batu Bekarang, Kampung Pahlawan and Batu Biah.

Abdul Rahman also had the opportunity to hand over personal donations to the recipients.
