KUCHING: Disinfection has been conducted in Covid-19 hotbeds in the state, said Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
Its deputy chairman Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said a total of 1,598 personnel from Local Government Ministry and Bomba have sanitised red and orange zones in the state.
He said 51 areas have been disinfected from March 30 until April 14. Twenty-two of the spots are in Kuching, eight in Miri and seven in Samarahan.
Four other areas have also been sanitised in Sibu and Sarikei respectively, three in Limbang, two in Betong and one in Sri Aman.
“The safety level in Sarawak is under control, thanks for the 96.5 percent compliance with the movement control order.
“All agencies involved with the MCO operations are still enforcing and monitoring them throughout Sarawak. They are also still disinfecting the red and orange zones,” he said at a press conference here yesterday.
