KUCHING: With Christmas just days away, why not make your celebration a meaningful one by giving back to society?

Just two days ago, the earth-breaking for the Dyslexia Association of Sarawak’s (DASwk) new Learning and Resource Centre in Desa Wira, Batu Kawa was held. However, the association still needs RM2.5 million more for the completion of the building.

Donating to the building of the RM3.5 million-centre will be a great way to give back to the society this Christmas.

This is because you will be helping more dyslexic children in the state to have a better and conducive learning environment once the new centre is completed.

How can you donate? Sarawak’s e-wallet application Sarawak Pay has partnered with the association by launching the QR code to make it easier for individuals to just ‘scan and donate’.

To ‘scan and donate’, first you have to download and register with the Sarawak Pay app. Or if you are already a user, you can simply scan from the code attached here and donate any amount.

The QR code is also available on DASwk and Sarawak Pay’s Facebook page.

DASwk president Dr Ong Puay Hoon is grateful to those who have supported the association and hope more will come forward to help.

“We have a long way to go as far as the centre is concerned,” she said.

Those who wish to contribute directly to the association may do so by visiting DASwk at Lorong Maxwell 2, Jalan Maxwell or banking in directly to the association’s RHB bank account at 26104890001600.

The association is also appealing for sponsorship for the building and furnishing of one classroom at RM60,000 each; the classroom will be named after the donor or any other preferred name.

For further inquiries, DASwk can be contacted at 082-242900 or by email at dyslexiaswk@gmail.com.
