KUCHING: Ho Soon Physical Culture Club hosted a blood donation campaign at Kuching Sentral here, yesterday.

The event was held in response to a call by Serian General Hospital’s blood bank to collect enough blood to help those in need.

The event was graced by Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) Councillor Yeo Eng Kuang, representing Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang who is also MPP chairman.

According to the club’s chairman cum organising chairman Then Shui Ted, donating blood is a good deed.

“Regular blood donation not only saves people, but also promotes the body’s metabolism.

“When doing a health check to donate blood, many people will also discover that they have high blood pressure or other diseases.

“Blood donation also stimulates the hematopoietic organs — the bone marrow accelerates the production of cells which promotes good health,” he said when speaking at the event.

He also reminded that blood donation is voluntary, regardless of race or religious belief.
