KUCHING: The public are reminded to continue adhering to Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) even though Hari Raya Aidilfitri open houses are allowed this year.
“The Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration this year will be a little different seeing as the country is transitioning into the endemic phase and people can now move more freely.
“With open houses allowed this year, the number of guests (at any one time) must follow the SOPs set. It should not be too many knowing that sometimes we may forget to follow SOPs when enjoying,” said Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
He said this when officiating at the ‘Sumbangsih Raya 2022’ for security and enforcement agencies at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here on Friday (April 8).
Abang Johari stressed that SOP compliance was important to maintain health and safety, adding that it also contributed to ensuring the current Covid-19 situation was under control.
For the record, Hari Raya Aidilfitri open houses were not allowed in Sarawak since 2020 following the Covid-19 outbreak.
When it was allowed, the celebration was only on the first day and for immediate family members only, at 50 per cent capacity based on the size of the house and physical distancing.
