SERIAN: People here have been urged not to sell off their land after they receive their land titles.

Tarat assemblyman Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn said they should instead take advantage of their land.

“Work on the land for the good such as by carrying out agricultural projects that can benefit the villagers,” he was quoted as saying by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) on Friday (Jan 14).

At the same time, he also called on residents to cooperate with the Land and Survey Department to allow survey work to run smoothly.

Earlier, Sagah, who is also Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development attended a dialogue on the survey of individual lots (agriculture) under the new Native Customary Rights (NCR) land survey initiative in Kampung Panchor Dayak on Friday.

The dialogue was organised by the Serian Division Land and Survey Department to enable residents to have a clearer understanding of the survey initiative.

Also present were Serian Division Land and Survey Department officers Attin Rimpa and Suria Salem, Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) chairman Bung Sadung, Nicholas Ami, Panchor Dayak village chief Buri Gamui, and Penghulu Sirau Lungkis.
