KUCHING: Haj pilgrims from Sarawak for this year are reminded not to spread news in social media on the situations in the Holy Land (Mecca).

Utilities (Electricity Supply) Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said such action would only complicate the situation and not solve it.

“If there is any shortage, talk to Tabung Haji officials,” he said at the Perdana Hajj Course Adjournment at the Darul Hana Mosque here, yesterday.

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also responsible for Sarawak’s Islamic affairs urged the haj participants to take care of their health before and during the pilgrimage.

The Pantai Damai assemblyman also cautioned the pilgrims to always follow the rules and obey the laws of Saudi Arabia.

They must also follow the doctor’s advice and if they need further treatment to follow advice given by Tabung Haji staff.

“Pilgrims should fill their time while in the Holy Land with the practice of circumcision, zikir, reading the Quran and others.
