Downward trend in Covid-19 cases to 192

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 192 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (Nov 24), a slight decrease compared to the previous day’s 239 cases.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said 185 of the total number of cases comprised Categories 1 and 2 while seven were of Categories 3, 4 and 5.

Kuching accounted for the highest number of cases at 54 followed by Miri (40); Sibu (24); Serian (15); Bintulu (12); Kanowit and Betong (seven each); Sri Aman and Bau (four each).

Three new cases each were reported in Samarahan, Mukah, and Lundu while Selangau recorded two cases.

Sarikei, Saratok, Limbang, Dalat, Kapit, Tebedu, Tatau, Song, Beluru, Subis, Kabong, Meradong, Telang Usan, and Pakan each recorded one case.

Meanwhile, the SDMC also revealed two fatalities in the Kuching district on Nov 20 and Nov 22.

“The death on Nov 20 involved a 66-year-old woman while the death recorded on Nov 22 was that of an 84-year-old woman who had a history of high blood pressure and heart disease.

“Both women passed away at the Sarawak General Hospital,” it said.
